Welcome to Trail Horses of THE WEST
You may recognize or remember us as Trail Horses of Colorado, when we were located near Colorado Springs area for many years.
At Trail Horses of THE WEST we only offer for sale gaited pleasure and trail horses. Out clientele is individuals wanting a horse they can simply get on, ride and enjoy! Our operation is unique! We operate right in the mountains of northern New Mexico. We don't have to load and trailer our horses to trails, we ride right out of the ranch into thousands of miles of mountain trails! These beautiful mountains are our training grounds. Nature provides steep inclines, rocks, logs and streams. Frequently our horses encounter wildlife like elk, deer, black bears, wild turkeys and coyotes. Dogs are always with our horses and accompany us on every trail ride. |

Photo taken August 12th, 2008 in Sangre De Cristo Mountains near conclusion of a seven hour ride. Minutes after this photo was take two adult black bears with two cubs appeared below us. All part of the sites seen on rides right out of Twin Ponds Ranch. Horses on ride: Bum,
Aubie, Dee Dapple and Junior Walker.
The
quality of the horses we offer for sale is high ..13,000
feet high!!!
